AI that understands what your cameras see
Waei Vision is AI-first video management that works with the cameras you already have, whoever installed them. Detection runs on your own device. AI runs in the cloud: it spots a missing helmet, a fight, a fall, a plate on a blocklist, and writes you a morning brief of what happened. Ask it a question and it answers with the clip.

Detection on your device. Understanding in the cloud.
The split is the whole design. The part that must be fast and private stays with the cameras. The part that needs big models and a lot of memory runs where that is cheap.

Inference & detection
- Inference and detection, on the boxThe model runs on the NVR or an edge device at your site. Every frame is looked at; none of it has to leave.
- Works when the internet does notRules keep firing and clips keep saving on a dead connection. The cloud catches up when it returns.
- Only events go upA short clip and a line of metadata per event, not a 24-hour stream. Your bandwidth and your privacy both notice.

Analysis & AI
- Analysis and AI, where there is room for itThe heavy models that read a day of events and explain it in plain language run in the cloud, on hardware you never have to buy.
- Search across cameras and days“White van, loading bay, after 9 pm, this week.” One question instead of scrubbing nine timelines.
- Alerts where you already arePushed to the Waei Support app, with the clip attached, so the person who needs to act can see it in one tap.
Everything it can watch for
Two layers. Rules run on your device and tell a camera where to look. The AI runs in the cloud and tells you what it saw — a missing helmet, a scuffle, a fall, a plate that should not be here — and turns a day of footage into numbers and sentences.
Detection rules
Pick what each camera should watch for. Drawn on the live view, run on your device, every event with its own clip.
- Object DetectionOn deviceDetect specific objects in the camera view
- Intrusion DetectionOn deviceDetect unauthorized entry into restricted zones
- Line CrossingOn deviceDetect objects crossing a virtual line
- Loitering DetectionOn deviceDetect people staying in an area too long
- Crowd DetectionOn deviceDetect when too many people gather in an area
- Object Left BehindOn deviceDetect objects left unattended
- Object RemovedOn deviceDetect when objects are removed from an area
- Speed DetectionOn deviceDetect vehicles exceeding speed limits
- Wrong DirectionOn deviceDetect objects moving in wrong direction
Camera 07 · Work-zone gate · PPE checkSafety & compliance
Things a human guard would miss by the second hour of a shift.
- PPE complianceMVPHelmet, hi-vis vest, gloves and boots checked at every entry to a work zone. Missing kit raises an event with the clip.
- Fight detectionMVPAggressive movement between two or more people flagged in seconds, before anyone reaches the control room.
- Fall detectionMVPA person down and not moving — on a factory floor, in a lift lobby, in a care home corridor.
- Fire & smokev1Visual flame and smoke detection from the camera itself, often minutes ahead of a ceiling sensor.
- Weapon detectionv1Knives and firearms in hand, for banks, schools and high-risk sites.
Camera 01 · Main gate · Plate readPeople & vehicles
Who and what, not just that something moved.
- Number plate recognitionMVPPlates read at gates and bays, matched against allow and block lists, logged with time and lane.
- Known-person recognitionv1Staff, residents and blocklisted visitors recognised on opt-in watchlists you control.
- Vehicle classificationMVPTwo-wheeler, car, van, truck — counted and filtered separately in every search and report.
Camera 04 · Shop floor · Footfall & queueInsight & reporting
A day of footage turned into numbers and sentences.
- Footfall & people countingMVPIn, out and occupancy per entrance, per hour — for shops, campuses and apartment gates.
- Heatmaps & dwell timev1Where people stop, how long they stay, which aisle or counter draws the most attention.
- Queue lengthv1Alerts when a billing line or reception queue grows past the number you set.
- After-hours activityMVPAny person or vehicle outside the hours you define, summarised each morning.
- Daily AI summaryMVPA plain-language brief of what happened across every camera, with the clips that matter attached.
- Ask the AIv1“Did a white van stop at the loading bay after 9 pm this week?” — answered from the footage, with the clip.
Where it is, and where it is going
Three stages. The dates are our working targets, dated from October 2026, and we will move them here before we move them anywhere else.

Building the core
The on-device engine, the rule picker and the cloud pipeline are being built and tested on our own installations in Chennai.
- On-device inference and detection on NVR and edge hardware
- Rule picker: nine detection rules, drawn on the live view
- Event stream from device to cloud, with only clips that matter
- Training PPE, fight and fall models on real site footage
- Internal pilots on live Waei sites

General availability
Open to everyone, on any supported camera system, with the full AI layer: you ask questions of your footage and it answers with clips.
- Ask the AI: natural-language search across cameras and days
- Fire & smoke, weapon and known-person recognition
- Heatmaps, dwell time and queue-length analytics

Works with the cameras you already have
Waei Vision sits on top of any standard IP camera or NVR, not just the ones we fit. The MVP is tuned on live sites by our own engineers first, then opens to everyone at version 1.
